Education; Wining and Dining

July 29, 2010 by Staff · 1 Comment

A large percentage of our public schools across the country are in crisis mode in trying to provide a quality education, especially in urban areas. Recently in Washington, DC the head of public schools made a bold move and fired 200 plus teachers just weeks shy of the start of the school year. I’ll talk with two education reporters covering this risky and drastic attempt to improve the DC schools.

Since it’s about that time to get our teenagers ready for campus and dorm life, I’ll talk with Dr. Boyce Watkins about preparing minority students for college.

Later in the show, prepare to be wined and dined.  I’ll talk with African-American vintner Mac McDonald about his prized Pinot Noir and Timothy Dean about the opening of his new restaurant. How’s that for a full menu?
